Poth waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They took down the Goliad Tigers 34-16. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Tigers are ranked 954th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Poth has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 22-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 25.9 points per game. As for Goliad, they moved to 14-16 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Poth will take on Stockdale at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Goliad has already played their next game (against Karnes City), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
