Softball Recap: Saugus Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Saugus had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the West Ranch Wildcats. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-8 back in March.

Amelia Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Luci Curiel, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Saugus' victory bumped their record up to 15-7. As for West Ranch, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-7.

Coming up, Saugus will take on Moorpark at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Centurions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Musketeers have averaged an impressive 7.1 runs per game this season. As for West Ranch, they will face off against Valencia at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
