Cascade is a perfect 9-0 against Greencastle since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cadets will be playing at home against the Tiger Cubs at 5:30 p.m. Cascade is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.3 runs per game this season.
Cascade is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Plainfield just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Monday. They lost 15-8 to the Quakers. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since May 9, 2022, but that streak is no more.
Macey Pugh was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Taylor Rose, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Greencastle owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Monday. They came out on top against White River Valley by a score of 4-0. The Tiger Cubs haven't had any issues with the Wolverines recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
The result came thanks to Ali Hassler's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Greencastle saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Katie Detro, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Greencastle's victory bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Cascade, their loss dropped their record down to 16-2.
Tuesday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Cascade has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .513. However, it's not like Greencastle struggles in that department as they've averaged .432. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Cascade got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 against Greencastle by a conclusive 9-1 score. Do the Cadets have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Tiger Cubs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
