Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only La Jolla walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Mission Hills Grizzlies 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on three straight.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (110-109) La Jolla actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 28-30, 16-25, 25-23, 25-20, 15-12.

Mission Hills' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaelynn Le, who had 24 digs and five assists. Le is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in each of the last seven games she's played. Keilani Pacheco was another key player, getting eight digs and two aces.

La Jolla's victory bumped their record up to 14-20. As for Mission Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-10 record this season.

La Jolla will challenge Patrick Henry at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mission Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
