If Peshtigo was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Green Bay West last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bulldogs came up short against the Oconto Blue Devils on Thursday, falling 3-0. The Bulldogs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

While Peshtigo ultimately came up short, they really made Oconto work, particularly in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 25-23, 25-19.

Camryn Brissette paced Peshtigo's offense, picking up 11 kills. Brissette got some help from Skylyn Baxter and her 14 assists. Brissette was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Leading Oconto to victory were Braiya Wusterbarth and Sam McDowell. Wusterbarth had 15 digs and two aces, while McDowell had eight digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave Wusterbarth a new career-high in assists (three).

Peshtigo's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-4. As for Oconto, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Peshtigo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Two Rivers on the 27th. As for Oconto, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Marinette on the 27th.
