Baseball Game Preview: Fishers Tigers vs. Hamilton Southeastern Royals

For the second straight game, Fishers will face off against Hamilton Southeastern. The Tigers will be playing at home against the Royals at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Fishers is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Fishers and Hamilton Southeastern meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Wednesday. The Tigers walked away with a 5-1 win over the Royals.

Owen Sanders spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mayo Fernandez, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Luke Cherry was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Fishers' victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Hamilton Southeastern, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
