Basketball Recap: Elmira Comes Up Short

Elmira and Corning-Painted Post squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Elmira had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Corning-Painted Post Hawks by a score of 72-69. The Express just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Elmira's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Corning-Painted Post, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Elmira does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Corning-Painted Post, they will square off against New Rochelle at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. Corning-Painted Post has given up an average of 65.4 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
