It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Seventy-First had no problem doing just that on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 22-3 victory over the South Johnston Trojans. The win was nothing new for the Falcons as they're now sitting on ten straight.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jayson Franklin and Shon Pone. Franklin rushed for 191 yards and one TD while picking up 10.6 yards per carry while Pone rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown. Franklin's rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 11th straight game with at least 101 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Seventy-First proved: they limited South Johnston to a paltry 2.8 yards per carry. The Falcons didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.8.

Seventy-First didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ismael Vargas and Milo Anderson.

Seventy-First's victory bumped their record up to 10-1. As for South Johnston, with the loss, they broke their six-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4.
