Volleyball Recap: Pine Forest Comes Up Short at Home Against Triton

Pine Forest unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Triton Hawks by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Pine Forest was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Triton work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 28-26, 25-27, 23-25, 25-14, 15-7.

Taylor Route paced Pine Forest's offense, picking up 12 kills. Route got some help from Aria Parish and her 19 assists. Finally, Route was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high two blocks.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pine Forest will host Gray's Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Triton, they will be playing at home against Jack Britt at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
