Baseball Recap: Bayside Takes a Loss

The home team had won the previous six meetings between Bayside and Melbourne Central Catholic, and Melbourne Central Catholic kept the tradition alive. The Bears lost 12-1 to the Hustlers on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bears have suffered against the Hustlers since April 27, 2022.

Bayside saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam Welte, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

Bayside's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 12-8.

Looking ahead, Bayside will square off against Brevard HEAT at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Melbourne Central Catholic, they will face off against Harmony at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Hustlers 3.8, the Longhorns 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
