Volleyball Recap: Carlyle Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Carlyle had taken Okawville down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. The Indians/Lady Indians fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 2-1. The Indians/Lady Indians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Carlyle was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Okawville work for it, especially in the third set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-17, 26-24.

Despite the loss, Carlyle saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caybri Pollmann had 13 assists and five digs.

Carlyle has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 13-8 record this season. As for Okawville, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6.

Carlyle wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Valmeyer on the 30th. As for Okawville, they have also already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Lebanon on the 29th.
