Blackhawk had to settle for second on Wednesday, but Elijah White sure wasn't going down easily. White wasn't messing around, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits (and only one walk). The pitching appearance was his fourth straight with two or fewer walks.

Even though White couldn't lead Blackhawk over Ambridge, he won't have to wait long to try again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Sadly, White's big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Cougars' three-game streak of wins on the road. With the streak broken, White and the Cougars surely have a bit of extra motivation heading into Thursday's match.
