Basketball Recap: Patterson Mill Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game, Patterson Mill was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They escaped with a win against the Edgewood Rams by the margin of a single free throw, 48-47. This was a revenge game for Patterson Mill: when they faced off against Edgewood last Monday, they had to take a 65-44 defeat.

Patterson Mill was led to victory by Sophia Trinh and Rylie Madsen. Trinh posted ten points and four steals, while Madsen dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. Madsen has been hot, having also posted two or more blocks the last five times she's played. Zoe Valan was another key player, putting up 11 points and eight boards.

Patterson Mill is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. As for Edgewood, their loss dropped their record down to 14-5-1.

Coming up, Patterson Mill will be playing in front of their home fans against Northern at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Edgewood, they will head out on the road to challenge Bel Air at 7:00 p.m. on February 20th.
