Football Game Preview: Fairport Red Raiders vs. Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets

The Fairport Red Raiders will face off against the Rush-Henrietta Royal Comets at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Fairport ended up a good deal behind Webster Thomas and lost 28-14. The contest marked the Red Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Rush-Henrietta lost to Pittsford at home by a 35-21 margin on Friday. The defensive woes were uncharacteristic for the Royal Comets, who until this matchup were averaging 12.6 points allowed.

Fairport will have to contain Imani Wagstaff as he made an impact in Rush-Henrietta's last game. He rushed for 187 yards and one score while picking up 8.5 yards per carry. Wagstaff's longest rush was for an incredible 73 yards.

Fairport's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Rush-Henrietta, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Fairport might still be hurting after the 42-21 defeat they got from Rush-Henrietta when the teams last played back in November of 2024. Can the Red Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
