Football Recap: Ionia Takes a Loss + How To Watch

The matchup between Ionia and Charlotte on Friday hardly resembled the 14-13 effort from their previous meeting. The Bulldogs fell 40-28 to the Orioles. The loss leaves the Bulldogs still looking for their first win of the season.

Charlotte found their leader in freshman Evret Laguire, who rushed for 83 yards and one score on only six carries.

Ionia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Charlotte, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2.

Looking ahead, Ionia is taking a road trip to square off against Sexton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Big Reds' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.5 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Charlotte, they will welcome Olivet at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Orioles will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups.
