Riverside is 9-1 against Simmons since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Bulldogs will welcome the Blue Devils at 5:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Riverside has six straight wins, Simmons has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Riverside's victory against West Bolivar wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs skirted past the Eagles 16-15. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since April 12, 2025.

The team relied heavily on Colten Misskelley, who got on base in all six of his plate appearances with eight stolen bases, six runs, and two RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.4 stolen bases per game. Jonathan Knox was another key player, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.

O'Bannon hit Simmons with a five-run fourth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Blue Devils took a 12-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenwaves.

Riverside's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Simmons, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.

Wednesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Riverside has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .529. However, it's not like Simmons struggles in that department as they've averaged .570. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Riverside got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in March against Simmons by a conclusive 28-7 score. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Blue Devils have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
