4A District 8 recap October 1, 2013
Washington extended the longest winning streak in 4A District 8 this week by beating Monsignor Pace, 49-7. This was the team's fifth consecutive win.
Washington took down the Spartans 49-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Malik Atkins threw for 71 yards and ran for 37 yards in the win.
Tim "ICE" Harris' team's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Mark Walton chipped in 100 yards.
Deltron Hopkins was the best receiver in the league this week as the Tornadoes defeated Monsignor Pace. Hopkins tallied 2 receptions for 45 yards.
Washington's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tornadoes feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Treon Harris has thrown for 883 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Hopkins has 16 catches for 306 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Edison takes on Gulliver Prep. At the moment, the Red Raiders are in fourth, while the Raiders are in second.
Washington led 4A District 8 in scoring this week after putting up 49 points on the Spartans. Atkins ran for 37 yards during the win.
