Baseball Recap: Naperville North Takes a Loss

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Naperville North nor Waubonsie Valley made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Huskies might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 2-1 to the Warriors, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The defeat continues a trend for the Huskies in their meetings with the Warriors: they've now lost four in a row.

Yash Desai was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He also tossed two walks, which is notable because Naperville North is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 8-11 otherwise.

Naperville North's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Waubonsie Valley, they pushed their record up to 13-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

While Naperville North had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
