Hoover had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They came out on top against the Nordonia Knights by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday. The victory was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on three straight.

While Hoover might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Nordonia scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 27-25, 17-25, 25-18.

Rachel Jankowski paced Hoover's offense, picking up 26 kills. Jankowski got some help from Claire Jurica and her 43 assists. Jankowski was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

When it comes to explaining why Nordonia lost, don't look at Avery Palinkas. Despite the final result, she had 16 assists and three digs. Palinkas has been hot, having posted 16 or more assists the last seven times she's played. Tatum Hameed was another key player, getting eight digs and one assist.
