Basketball Game Preview: Camp Verde Cowboys vs. Fountain Hills Falcons

The Camp Verde Cowboys are taking a road trip to square off against the Fountain Hills Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Camp Verde turned things around against Veritas Prep on Monday. They walked away with a 41-32 victory over the Falcons.

Camp Verde got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Wa'Siiva Lewis out in front who went 6 of 14 en route to 12 points along with seven assists and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Lydia Bleak, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Fountain Hills waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They claimed a resounding 51-14 victory over the Falcons. Fountain Hills has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 21 points or more this season.

Fountain Hills is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 22.6 points per game. As for Camp Verde, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.

Camp Verde came up short against Fountain Hills in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, falling 40-32. Can Camp Verde avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
