Kapaun Mt. Carmel is a perfect 8-0 against South since October of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Crusaders will head out to square off against the Titans. South took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Kapaun Mt. Carmel, who comes in off a win.

Kapaun Mt. Carmel is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Kansas' top teams: Garden City, who was ranked sixth at the time (Kapaun Mt. Carmel was ranked 19th). The Crusaders were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Buffaloes on Saturday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Kapaun Mt. Carmel's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to Maize.

South's loss dropped their record down to 1-11-1. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Kapaun Mt. Carmel took their win against South in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 8-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Crusaders since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
