Basketball Recap: Aubrey Karppinen and Evelyn Moilanen Secure Win for Dollar Bay

Dollar Bay hadn't done well against Wright recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Dollar Bay Bays secured a 39-33 W over the Wright Red Devils. For the Bays, this counts as revenge for the 43-29 victory the Red Devils walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2024.

Dollar Bay was led to victory by Evelyn Moilanen and Aubrey Karppinen. Moilanen almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards, while Karppinen almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Karppinen is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last four games she's played.

Dollar Bay smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Dollar Bay is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points per game. As for Wright, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Dollar Bay will welcome Ontonagon at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Wright does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
