Softball Recap: Grand Saline Extends Winning Streak to Three

Grand Saline proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mineola Yellowjackets, sneaking past 11-9. The win was familiar territory for the Indians, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Grand Saline's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 19-7-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.7 runs over those games. As for Mineola, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 12-10-2.

Looking ahead, Grand Saline will face off against Malakoff at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Indians 3.3, the Tigers 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Mineola, they will take on Winona at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellowjackets are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a 14-game losing streak.
