Soccer Game Preview: Rigby vs. Canyon Ridge

The Rigby Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Canyon Ridge Riverhawks at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Rigby is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Idaho's top teams: Highland, who was ranked ninth at the time (Rigby was ranked 21st). The Trojans fell just short of the Rams by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for Rigby in their meetings with Highland: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last contest, Canyon Ridge made sure to put some goals up on the board against Madison on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 6-1 victory. With Canyon Ridge ahead 4-0 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Canyon Ridge's win bumped their record up to 7-4-1. As for Rigby, their loss dropped their record down to 8-6-1.

Rigby couldn't quite get it done against Canyon Ridge when the teams last played two weeks ago as they fell 4-2. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
