Merrol Hyde Magnet was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 67-53 to the Jo Byrns Red Devils. The Hawks were down 67-45 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Merrol Hyde Magnet lost, don't look at Sam Mullins. Despite the final result, he went 12 for 28 on his way to 28 points in addition to six steals and five boards. With that strong performance, Mullins is now averaging an impressive 15.5 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Potter, who posted seven points and seven rebounds.
