Volleyball Preview: Groesbeck Goats vs. Westwood Panthers
Groesbeck has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Westwood Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
Last Friday, Groesbeck came up short against Teague and fell 3-1.
Meanwhile, Westwood entered their tilt with Mexia on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Black Cats.
Westwood took Mexia into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 25-18, 12-25, 25-11, 15-10.
Addyson Nettles was the offensive standout of the game as she had 17 digs.
Groesbeck has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Westwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.
Groesbeck took their win against Westwood in their previous meeting back in October of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0. Will Groesbeck repeat their success, or does Westwood have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
