Basketball Game Preview: Anna Coyotes vs. Sherman Bearcats

The Anna Coyotes will take on the Sherman Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Anna lost 58-38 to Melissa on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 469th, while the Cardinals are ranked 101st).

Anna's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of R.J. Gardner, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 15 points, and Lamin Foon, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards. Foon is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Sherman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight loss. They were beaten by Walnut Grove 77-48. The Bearcats were down 59-33 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Anna has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-18 record this season. As for Sherman, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-20.

Anna didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Sherman when the teams last played on January 3rd, but they still walked away with a 74-70 win. Will Anna repeat their success, or does Sherman have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
