Lakeland took a 30-point loss the last time they faced off against Prairie Heights, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Lakeland Lakers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 44-41 win over the Prairie Heights Panthers on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lakers have posted against the Panthers since January 11, 2017.

Despite the loss, Prairie Heights still got an impressive performance from Cade Bachelor, who went 7-for-14 en route to 21 points and six rebounds. Those 21 points gave Bachelor a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Strater, who posted six points.

Lakeland's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Prairie Heights, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-12.

Looking ahead, Lakeland will face off against Angola at 7:30 p.m. on February 28th. Angola will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Lakeland surely won't give up without a fight. Prairie Heights has already played their next contest (against Woodlan), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
