Softball Recap: Westlake Lions vs. East Hall Vikings
Westlake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Hall Vikings.
Alana Barrett made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-2 with a triple, a run, and a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Raina Gantt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Even though they lost, Westlake didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with nine strikeouts. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved they're strikeout total in three consecutive games.
Westlake's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for East Hall, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-5.
Westlake will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against East Coweta at 5:30 p.m. East Coweta will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Westlake surely won't give up without a fight. As for East Hall, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-3 loss vs. East Laurens on the 24th.
