Volleyball Game Preview: James Island Trojans vs. Porter-Gaud Cyclones

James Island is 2-8 against Porter-Gaud since September of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Trojans will welcome the Cyclones at 5:30 p.m. James Island will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

On Thursday, James Island made easy work of Stall and carried off a 3-0 win.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: James Island took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-6, 25-7, 25-11.

Meanwhile, Porter-Gaud suffered their biggest loss since October 22, 2024 on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to Wando. The Cyclones haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

While Porter-Gaud was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Wando's winning margin in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-15, 25-19.

James Island's victory bumped their record up to 26-9-1. As for Porter-Gaud, their defeat dropped their record down to 21-17.
