Football Game Preview: Union Red Hawks vs. Muskegon Big Reds + Official Tickets

Union is 0-10 against Muskegon since October of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Red Hawks will challenge the Big Reds at 7:00 p.m. Union has given up an average of 31.7 points per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 49-6, which was the final score in Union's tilt against Byron Center on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Red Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 377th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 61st).

Meanwhile, Muskegon had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They took down the Sailors 28-12. The Big Reds pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Sailors cut but never quite recovered from.

Union's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Muskegon, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.

Union was dealt a bruising 62-0 defeat at the hands of Muskegon when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Red Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
