Volleyball Recap: Greenwood Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Greenwood Christian Academy was the 3-0 winner over Indianapolis Shortridge when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Cougars fell in a 3-2 heartbreaker to the Blue Devils. The Cougars' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Greenwood Christian Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Indianapolis Shortridge into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking five-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 16-25, 25-15, 25-13, 21-25, 15-10.

Despite the loss, Greenwood Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: freshman Dallas Conn had five digs and four aces. Those four aces set a new season-high mark for Conn.

Greenwood Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Indianapolis Shortridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Greenwood Christian Academy will take on Indianapolis Scecina Memorial at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cougars are facing the Crusaders at the right time seeing as the Crusaders are stuck on a six-game losing streak. Indianapolis Shortridge has already played their next match (against Herron), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
