Basketball Game Preview: Bellevue Comets vs. Anamosa Raiders

The Bellevue Comets will venture away from home to take on the Anamosa Raiders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bellevue will be strutting in after a win while Anamosa will be coming in after a loss.

Bellevue had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 33-point drubbing they dealt Camanche on Thursday. The Comets blew past the Indians, posting a 66-33 victory. The win continues a trend for the Comets in their matchups with the Indians: they've now won eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Anamosa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They lost 69-47 to Monticello. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 270th, while the Panthers are ranked 41st).

Anamosa's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Bellevue, their victory bumped their record up to 14-2.

Everything came up roses for Bellevue against Anamosa in their previous matchup back in December of 2025, as the squad secured an 81-43 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comets since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
