Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Maria Carrillo walked away with it. They never let the Heritage Patriots get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory on Friday. Considering the Pumas have won nine games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Paige Richards, who gave up just four hits to keep Heritage off the board.
At the plate, Maria Carrillo let Alivia Vetter and Erin Kelleher run wild. Vetter went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while Kelleher went 2-for-3 with two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Rachaely Yaya, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
