Basketball Recap: Oak Park Takes a Loss

Oak Park lost against Park Hill South back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Oak Park Northmen came up short against the Park Hill South Panthers, falling 73-52. While losing is never fun, the Northmen can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while the Panthers are ranked second).

Addison Bjorn was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 26 points and 18 rebounds for Park Hill South. Bjorn's evening made it 15 games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lanicia Parker, who almost dropped a double-double with 22 points and nine boards.

Oak Park has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-6 record this season. The victory keeps them at an undefeated 25-0.

Oak Park has already played their next game (against Liberty), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Park Hill South, they have already played their next contest, a 64-40 win against North Kansas City on the 28th.
