Softball Recap: Glendora Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

While Glendora put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Walnut. The Glendora Tartans put the hurt on the Walnut Mustangs with a sharp 9-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Tartans, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Gianna Messick, who gave up just five hits to keep Walnut off the board. Messick has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kennedy Bowers was a standout: she scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Morgan Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

The victory (which was Glendora's fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Walnut, their defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-8.

Coming up, Glendora will be playing at home against Ayala at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Walnut, they will head out to square off against Claremont at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
