Leeds scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 50-49 to the St. Clair County Fighting Saints. The Greenwave were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Fighting Saints apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Leeds lost, don't look at Sam Lollar. Despite the final result, he threw for 228 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 35 yards.

St. Clair County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Landyn Smith out in front who threw for 226 yards and four touchdowns, and also punched in one score on the ground. The Fighting Saints' leading receiver Tra'Vell Jones was Smith's top target yet again, picking up 146 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

Leeds' defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for St. Clair County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
