Baseball Game Preview: Roncalli Jets vs. Two Rivers Purple Raiders

For the second straight game, Roncalli will face off against Two Rivers. The Jets will venture away from home to square off against the Purple Raiders at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Roncalli has three straight wins, Two Rivers has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Tuesday, Roncalli needed a bit of extra time to put away Two Rivers. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Purple Raiders 7-6.

The team relied heavily on Ryan Cole, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Carter Kilbride was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Roncalli's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Two Rivers, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
