Verona was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 24th straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 11-6 to Greenfield. If Verona was looking for revenge after losing 9-2 to Greenfield when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Owen Akin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with four RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Triston Reed, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Verona's record now sits at 0-6. As for Greenfield, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Verona will head out to face off against New Heights Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Greenfield, they will venture away from home to take on Bradleyville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.8 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
