Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Cement

Cement extended their winning streak to five on Monday, bumping them up to 10-10. They walked away with a 78-70 victory over the Lookeba-Sickles Panthers. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 70-45 loss the last time these two teams met.

As for Lookeba-Sickles, they dropped their record down to 2-16 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. On the bright side, the 70- point effort marked their highest-scoring game to date.

Lookeba-Sickles' loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Bryan Leon, who went 12-for-28 on his way to 29 points. Leon continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nate Morris, who posted 21 points and eight boards.

Cement and Lookeba-Sickles could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings. The Bulldogs (ranked 333rd) will meet Cyril (ranked 22nd) at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Lookeba-Sickles will challenge Hobart at 8:00 p.m. on the 27th with a big rank disadvantage (394 vs. 147).
