Softball Game Preview: Waterloo Vikings vs. Western Reserve Blue Devils

For the second straight game, Waterloo will face off against Western Reserve. The Vikings will face off against the Blue Devils at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Monday, Waterloo got the win against Western Reserve by a conclusive 12-1. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Blue Devils recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Jolean Hampton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Hampton was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, Kristlyn Kehrer was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Hailey Graening was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI.

Everything went Waterloo's way against Western Reserve in their previous matchup on Monday, as Waterloo made off with a 12-1 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
