Softball Recap: St. Maries Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when St. Maries and Grangeville meet (two straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. The Lumberjacks fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3. The Lumberjacks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 11-10.

St. Maries' defeat dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Grangeville, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-10.

Grangeville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 16-7 loss against Orofino on the 5th. Hopefully St. Maries paid attention to the Bulldogs' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
