Basketball Game Preview: Seymour Owls vs. Greensburg Pirates

Seymour has won five straight games at home, while Greensburg has won five straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Seymour Owls will welcome the Greensburg Pirates at 7:30 p.m.

Last Saturday, Seymour was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 52-47 to Greenwood.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Greensburg). They walked away with a 74-64 victory over Madison on Saturday.

Greensburg's win came from a few key players Seymour will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jack Mckinsey, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.3% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacoby Miller, who went 8-for-12 en route to 19 points.

Seymour's loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-6. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points over those games. As for Greensburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Seymour beat Greensburg 48-40 in their previous meeting back in February of 2024. Does Seymour have another victory up their sleeve, or will Greensburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
