Softball Recap: Thursday's Victory Is Woodford County's Eighth in Last Ten Outings

Woodford County gave up the first runs on Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They came out on top against the East Jessamine Jaguars by a score of 5-2. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Yellowjackets also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Maddie Buntain was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Norah Ashburn was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Woodford County has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-9-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. As for East Jessamine, they dropped their record down to 12-14 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, Woodford County will welcome Rowan County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Jessamine, they are taking a road trip to square off against Southwestern on Saturday.
