Baseball Recap: Tanque Verde Takes a Loss

Tanque Verde easily dispatched Douglas last Thursday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. Tanque Verde fell just short of the Walden Grove Red Wolves by a score of 12-10 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Hawks have suffered since April 20, 2024.

Liam Brunell was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Tanque Verde is 5-1-1 when Brunell posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

Brunell wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Tanque Verde lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Tanque Verde's loss dropped their record down to 6-4-1. As for Walden Grove, their win was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Tanque Verde has already played their next matchup, a 14-4 victory against Rincon/University on the 20th. As for Walden Grove, they are taking a road trip to square off against Salpointe Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
