Shrine Catholic is 8-1 against Cardinal Mooney Catholic since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Knights will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Cardinal Mooney Catholic will be up against a hot Shrine Catholic team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went the Knights' way against Cabrini on Tuesday as they made off with a 17-7 win. While the Knights didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-9), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Samantha Swaneck made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases.

In other batting news, Madeleine Doud was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jenna Ruhle, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Cardinal Mooney Catholic never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over Parkway Christian. The high-scoring effort was just what the Cardinals needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Shrine Catholic pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for Cardinal Mooney Catholic, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Everything went Shrine Catholic's way against Cardinal Mooney Catholic when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Shrine Catholic made off with a 29-12 win. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
