SPRINGFIELD, Ga. - A big 22-point second quarter helped carry the Gators to a 34-0 victory over Effingham County (Springfield, Ga.) on Saturday.
Ware County scored on a
Quayshawn Taylor touchdown run, a defensive touchdown and a touchdown run by
Dedrick Mills in the quarter.
After taking the lead on a Taylor touchdown run in the first quarter, WC led 28-0 at the half.
The Waycross school expanded its lead to 34 points entering the fourth quarter. The Gators' lone score in the quarter came on a rushing touchdown.
With the win Ware County extended its winning streak to nine games. Ware County defeated Bradwell Institute 48-0 last week.
WC came into the game allowing 12.4 points per game.
A 49-0 Ware County victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
The loss comes after Effingham County defeated Groves 38-14 last week.
