Recap: Dodge County Indians vs. West Laurens Raiders
The Dodge County Indians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. Everything went their way against West Laurens as Dodge County made off with a 68-43 victory. Dodge County has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 24 points or more this season.
Leading Dodge County to victory were Lyric Green and Paige Ingram. Green dropped a double-double on 23 points and 20 rebounds, while Ingram dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ingram has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Autumn Rhodes, who scored six points along with three steals.
West Laurens' loss came despite strong showings from Jarissa Robinson and Madelyn Ridgway. Robinson scored 20 points, while Ridgway scored 11 points.
Dodge County's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for West Laurens, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Dodge County and Worth County will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Worth County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Dodge County is ranked 83rd). As for West Laurens, they will be playing at home against Westside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
