Preview: Deep Run Wildcats vs. J.R. Tucker Tigers
Deep Run is 8-2 against J.R. Tucker since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Deep Run Wildcats just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the J.R. Tucker Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Deep Run's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They suffered a rough 50-30 loss at the hands of Hanover. Deep Run has not had much luck with Hanover recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Meanwhile, J.R. Tucker ended up a good deal behind Hermitage on Friday and lost 43-27.
Deep Run has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-6 record this season. As for J.R. Tucker, they bumped their record down to 6-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Everything went Deep Run's way against J.R. Tucker in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as Deep Run made off with a 48-26 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Deep Run since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
