Basketball Game Preview: Kendrick Cherokees vs. Hardaway Hawks

Kendrick is 2-8 against Hardaway since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Kendrick Cherokees will challenge the Hardaway Hawks at 7:30 p.m. Kendrick is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 69.9 points per game this season.

Kendrick is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game last Thursday. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 68-64 heartbreaker at the hands of Columbus.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Cash Elder, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Harris, who scored nine points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, Hardaway played a tough game last Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 54-23 loss at the hands of Sumter County. The match marked the Hawks' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Like Kendrick, Hardaway lost despite seeing results from several players. Tristan Jackson led the charge by putting up five points. Sergio Lowe was another key player, posting four points.

Hardaway has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Kendrick, their record is now 11-5.

Everything came up roses for Kendrick against Hardaway in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 75-44 victory. In that matchup, Kendrick amassed a halftime lead of 47-25, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
